Workshop | The Metaverse and the Future Virtual Economy, by Prof. Timothy Jung
On 1 December 2025, the MetaverseUA Chair at the University of Alicante will host a workshop titled “The Metaverse and the Future Virtual Economy”, led by Prof. Timothy Jung, one of the world’s leading experts in Extended Reality (XR).
Prof. Jung is Chair Professor of XR at Manchester Metropolitan University (UK), a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher (World’s Top 1% most influential researchers in 2023 and 2024), President of the International Association of Immersive Tech Innovation, Chair of the International XR–Metaverse Conference, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Metaverse Research, and Director of the Creative AR & VR Hub at MMU.
The workshop will explore how XR technologies and virtual worlds are reshaping key sectors and enabling new economic models in the Metaverse.
